Yes, there are some cases/covers for iPad 2 that works perfectly fine with iPad 3 like the Apple Smart Cover although it does not include a back-only cover.

So it would be better if you could get this cover; one that has a piece of metal on the back.

Smart cover would magnetically attach to it when you have it folded back from the screen.
