I am suffering from a problem that the programs in my computer are displaying more and more times if I access any one of a folder in my hard drive and eventually my Taskbar fills with many 'My computer' windows. Would you educate me what is the problem that I am facing and how can I get free from this problem?

Jeniferestess,

It would seem that you have been infected with a Malware program that forces windows to open multiple instances of "My computer" on your task bar.

What this does in turn is it actually slows down your computing speed that it usually consumes the form of a DLL file and is not readily recognized or disabled by some Antivirus software.

I have been a victim to the same Malware program before and in the course of extricating it from my computer I have devised a way to take it off your computer without an OS repair or a full reinstall of Windows.

STEP 1:
  • Perform a system restore on your computer to an earlier date from when you started noticing the "event" on your desktop
  • A: How to access system restore on windows:
  • For Windows XP
  • Left click on START > RUN > type the command line > c:windowssystem32restorerstrui.exe > on the OPEN box
  • For Windows VISTA / 7
  • Left click on START > ALL PROGRAMS > SYSTEM TOOLS > SYSTEM RESTORE

Note : Make sure to choose a restore point before the instance of the Malware program started appearing

STEP 2:
I was referred to the free antispyware application by one of our server engineers when I developed the same symptoms like yours on my computer and after installing and scanning my computer after doing a system restore, it found all the instances of the Malware program and some other worm apps that were never detected by Norton or WIndows Defender.

Download the application Superantispyware install and perform a full scan of your computer. After the scan and deletion of all found infections on your computer, restart and enjoy a Malware free environment on your Windows.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Your computer is likely to have been affected by viruses and requires that you remove the bugs. Running an active antivirus will get maximum rid of the virus from you PC. Try running some malware removers such as the Spybot, SmitFraudFix and also some Malwarebytes. You can also use your antivirus program, I believe you have an updated one, run it to remove any possible viruses from your PC.

Hope this helps.
