Installed Kaspersky antivirus and resulted in a slow laptop

Having recently formatted my laptop, i decided to install an antivirus. Can anyone please recommend me any good antivirus for windows 8 x64 and tell me the difference compared to an internet security package. initially i installed kaspersky antivirus and it resulted in a slow start up for my laptop and slow processing. Can anybody help me?

Actually, all anti-virus software are good, as it functions the same way, they only differ in their interface and personal preference of the user. You can find lots of free anti-virus on the web, just search in “Free Antivirus”.

The difference between an Antivirus and Internet Security are not that much, in general both can detect, block and remove malware and viruses.

The advantage of the Internet Security is that it has its own firewall to protect your internet connection, protect you from dangerous URL’s and keeps you reminded every time you disclose your private information in your internet browser and offers you an option to safely leave the website.

On the performance of your PC, check your anti-virus minimum system requirements if it meets your PC specs and try to run disk defragment and run a full scan of your PC for Viruses, if it’s still slowing down then adjust your performance settings in control panel and select OPTIMAL performance settings.
