HP Solution centre won’t work, which is essential to make PDF files

Hi,

I have an intel i7, Win 7 Pro x64. Printer is HP c309g-m PhotoSmart Premium AIO.

The HP Photosmart Premium scan to network was working fine for a long period of time then all of a sudden the HP Solution centre will not work which I need to make my PDF files.

First I tried to reinstall the original drivers which had no effect so then I tried downloading the latest update which was also apparently useless. 

Solution centre won't scan pictures either, yet the printer still prints fine. It's a mystery to me anyone have any ideas?

HP Scanning

The scan cannot be performed because another program has control of the HP imaging device. Try the following steps. After each step, try scanning again.

– Restart the program

– Close all programs that may be using the device

– Reboot the computer

Hi there Robert J Reid,

 

It's quite hard to determine the problem only from the generic error. However, here are a few hints what to try:

 

You've already reinstalled the drivers, so that part should be fine. Besides drivers, HP requires some additional software for its devices to run. Installing that additional software from the CD that came with your printer could solve the problem.

 

Another thing to do is to use the HP Scan Diagnostic Utility.It is a small tool which can be downloaded from the HP website that will try to diagnose your problems and repair them, or let you know that the problem is in hardware.

 

HP Scan Diagnostic utility can be found on the link: Download it, run it and simply follow the wizard to resolve your problems.
