How to remove static Skype noise?

Whenever I am using my Skype, there is a static noise on the background which irritates me since the person I am talking to could not hear me clearly. Am I missing something on my Skype installation? How can I remove that static noise on Skype?

Hello Roger,
 
I have heard something related to the same problem that you have. To help you out, we will try to do some basic audio troubleshooting and see if it will fix the problem.
 
First, try to adjust the sound settings on your computer.
 
From the START menu, click on CONTROL PANEL.
 
 
Then choose HARDWARE AND SOUND, and click on SOUND.
 
 
 
Make sure that it is defaulted to Headphones.
 
 
You can also click on PROPERTIES to adjust necessary settings.
 
 
Once everything is set, open and sign in to SKYPE.
 
Select on TOOLS and then go to OPTIONS.
 
 
In the OPTIONS screen, select AUDIO SETTINGS.
 
 
Choose the device same that you have seen in SOUND SETTINGS on your computer from the MICROPHONE to the SPEAKERS. Make sure it matches what you have an earlier and click SAVE.
 
Then try to make a test call to check.
