I know there are virtual CD type software out there that makes a CD image from a disk, but is there something like a software that could make ISO from flashcards, it would be very helpful for me with some of the files I need to be virtualized.

Yes buddy, there are lots of software that are available for creating virtual drives on our PCs. Daemon tools, PowerISO, virtual CD 4, etc. To name a few. So I would like to discuss about Power ISO as I have used it in the same manner you want to,
1. First download & install Power ISO
2. Now insert your flash card > Go to My computer > Right Click on your drive (Flash drive) There you will get a Power ISO option> in that click on Add to image file.
3. Once you click this Power ISO will get started, select the image file type and click on OK. You are done.
