Hi. There is no "free version" of ADW Launcher EX. You may be referring to "ADW Launcher" which is free for everyone. The best way to install it is through WiFi or 3g connection. Through your android phone, just go to Google play store, search and download the ADW Launcher (or buy ADW Launcher EX if you wish) then it will automatically install. You can also install it from memory card through an APK file. APK is the file format used to install applications onto Google's Android OS. The first thing you need to do is to have the apk file of ADW Launcher in your memory card, then open it through your android phone’s file explorer and it will prompt you whether to install or not.

Here is an example of the prompt after you clicked the apk file in your phone.

If you want to install the app from a memory card, make sure you have the APK file (*.apk) because this is the file that installs the app. It is the equivalent of the EXE file (*.exe) in Microsoft Windows that installs programs to the computer. Also, check if the app you’re installing supports your phone’s operating system.

If your phone has Android 2.2.1 Froyo, check if the app on your memory card supports Android 2.2.1 Froyo. If it doesn’t support Android 2.2.1 Froyo, you cannot install the app. If you want to install the ADWLauncher, you can try the ADWLauncher 1 EX. It requires Android 1.6 Donut and higher. You can install the app until Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

ADW Launcher 2

Another launcher you can try is the ADW Launcher 2. It supports until Android 7.1 Nougat and also offers limited support for older versions down to Android 5.x Lollipop.
