Hello techy people! I am having problems connecting with wireless networks. I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop with Cisco Aironet 350 Wireless LAN Adapter installed on it. When I am at the office, I am using a VPN dialer in accessing the wireless network. But when I'm at home, I was unable to connect to any networks. My computer can successfully detects the entire wireless networks available. In fact, my signal strength is good. But I cannot browse or open any sites on my laptop. My friends used to come over during weekends and they can very well access the internet wihout problems. What is causing this? Is there something that I need to set correctly such as cookies or anything? Please help.

Hi Emranme,

This problem could be your WEP. Try to disable it or set everything back to its default configuration. Repairing your network could also help to find a possible solutions to fix the connection of your wireless system. If it does not work, do not use VPN dialer before connecting through your wireless connection as it can block the I.P of your wireless connection. Or if you have a security password, try to disable it first and reconnect again. Hope this help.

Hi, it could be that your VPN dialer could have a proxxy installed. If you are using Mozilla Firefox or whichever browser, confirm from Tools-Options-Advanced-Network, Under Connection click on Settings, Choose "No Proxxy" or "Use system Proxy settings". Then OK and try and see if indeed it connects after entering the security key. These are the settings for mozilla firefox. Check the settings for the browser you are using and see that you have no proxy as well. Regards
