Got Error 643 when installing .NET Framework

I tried installing an update for the .NET Framework 1.1 with my Vista when I got this error message, see below. I also received an error code 643. I have seen the Microsoft websites but I need a simpler or easier method to resolve my problem. 

Experts, please help me!

Got Error 643 when installing .NET Framework

The first option would be to view the missing updates and install them manually by browsing for them in the internet. Install all MS updates that you need to. If the error is still there, uninstall all the components of the software that you are trying to install (.NET framework).

Make sure you have removed everything and then reinstall it. You can remove the installed software by pressing the Start button and then going to the Control Panel. In the Add/Remove Programs, remove the program you need to uninstall then follow the steps for uninstalling it.

You can also use a .NET framework Cleaner to remove it. If this does not work, run Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool. Download it and install if you don't have it. Then update and run it. Go to safe mode with networking and run an online scan here:Download Link. This will remove all the virus and spyware from your computer.
