Hi,

Before installing any software you should check the current configuration of your computer. However, you did not mention the current configuration of your computer. Though most of the software is made compatible with all systems, MS Office Professional 2010 is not compatible with Windows XP Service Pack 2 (“Setup cannot find the required files”).

You need to update it as Service Pack 3. You can update your computer and install MS Office 2010 on your computer. This time it will be ok.

I hope you understand it.

Hi Jack,

This error occurs when you click on Cancel when you are asked to insert the installation disk.

Files in the administrative installation has files uncompressed while the CD installer has the files compressed.

Here are the solutions you can try:

  • Use an Alternative Network Admin Installation
  • Make an admin installation on your Hard drive
  • Use a CD for the Office Source Location

You can check this link to see the detailed instruction to the solutions listed above.
