Hey,

When I try to install the Final Cut Studio I ended up with an error message. For your information I have MacBook Pro OC x 2.2 Ghz Intel Core processor and I have LION installed in the system. Do I need to re-install? Uninstalling LION will help me? I am very confused please help me. Assist me to find the solutions.

You can’t open the application “FinalCutStudio.mpkg” because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.

If you have Mac OS X 10.7 Lion on your Macintosh computer, there is no way you can install any PowerPC-based applications. If you have Final Cut Pro 6, you need to install it on a Mac PC running on Mac OS X 10.4.9 Tiger, 10.5.5 Leopard, or higher. These operating systems still support PowerPC-based applications.

Since you have Mac OS X 10.7 Lion on your computer, the best way to fix it is to install Final Cut Pro 7 which, on the other hand, is not a PowerPC-based program. Also, Mac OS X 10.7 Lion runs only on non-PowerPC-based processor Mac computer. Make sure also to meet the requirements of Final Cut Pro 7 to avoid encountering any error.

For Final Cut Pro 7, it supports Mac OS X 10.5.6 Leopard and up. You also need to install QuickTime 7.6 and higher. To download, visit Apple Final Cut Pro for Mac. This is actually a whole package which includes several other applications like Final Cut Pro 7, DVD Studio Pro 4, Motion 4, Soundtrack Pro 3, Color 1.5, and Compressor 3.5. Since you only need Final Cut Pro 7, install only this feature and not the entire package.
