Hello,

After I have uninstall my antivirus and after reboot this error message appeared on my desktop after 5 minutes. I click OK and nothing happened, but it appeared again after another reboot. I don’t know how to fix it and please can anyone help me with this error? What is the problem with my PC?

Thanks!

I don’t see the relevance why removing your antivirus will also remove or delete the DLL file “rapi.dll”. Because in your case, when you uninstalled your antivirus the process also removed the said DLL file maybe because of a conflict in the system. The missing DLL file “rapi.dll” is the main component and part of Microsoft ActiveSync.

The main task of this file is designed to synchronize the information on a Windows Mobile powered device with Microsoft Office Outlook and a Windows PC. The “rapi.dll” file is associated with other DLL files like:

  • openal32.dll
  • coredll.dll
  • kernelbase.dll
  • binkw32.dll
  • sisbase.dll
  • ntdll.dll
  • win32.dll
  • GDI.exe

It can be fixed though my replacing the file with a similar DLL file. But before you do this, try recovering the DLL file first with a compatible one. To do this, click Start, Run, and type without quotes “cmd” and hit Enter. In the command prompt, type without quotes “for %1 in (c:windowssystem32*.dll) do regsvr32 /s %1” and hit Enter. See image.

Wait until the command prompt is finished processing. It will take time depending on the number of DLL files in the “system32” folder. Once it is finished, download the missing DLL file from Download File rapi.dll. Once downloaded, unpack it and place it in “C:WINDOWSsystem32”. Close all running applications and then go back to the command prompt and type without quotes “regsvr32 rapi.dll” and hit Enter. Restart your computer and it should be back to normal.
