Error seen while trying to create the FIM MA

Hello all,

I have recently been trying to create a Forefront identity manager (FIM) management agent and I already have a connection to the MSSQL server and database. I have also checked the FIM service base address and it works fine. My problem is that when I try to create the FIM MA, I get an error on my screen. The screenshot of the error is as follows:

 

Synchronization Service Manager: 80230909.

I don’t know what this error stands for? I have searched  it a lot on the internet, but found no useful post.

If anyone has ever seen this error and is familiar with this issue, please shed some light on it.

Hello Zachary,

That could be an error with the SQL server instance name. Usually the use of commas in the name is not allowed. Check if you are trying to specify the port in the server name for that may be the root cause of the problem. In case you instance name is db02,14332 then it could result into such an issue.  But if the name is db02 then you should try leaving off the comma as well as the port number.

Also check to verify that the database name is correct. Usually it is referred to as FIMService. In case you are moving the configurations between environment, you will need to ensure that you  adjust the name accordingly.
