I have a Nikon D3100, a so-called entry level camera. I think I've had enough of it and want to upgrade to a more professional camera. What can be the best DSLR upgrade for me? Should I stay with Nikon, or try Canon?

Hello

I personally recommend you to stick with Nikon as Nikon has a better color and sharper photos than the other cameras.

If you feel that you have outgrown with your D3100 and looking for a more professional DSLR, you may think of getting D90 or D7000, depends on the type of your shooting habits and budget.  You may check quick comparison between these two cameras.

Hope this helps.

Hi Susan,

If you want to upgrade your DSLR into a professional camera and you’re looking for the one that’s best, currently there are 3 top rated cameras in the market. They are:  Canon EOS-1D X, Nikon D3X and Nikon D700.

I own a Nikon and Canon camera.  But I have to agree with Mary V that Nikon produces a more shaper and crispier photos with vivid colors that I really like. Canon produces a matte effect and colors are not that strong in contrast. Canon has different configurations, settings and manuals compared to Nikon so you might want to consider this as you are already used to the configurations of Nikon.  There’s nothing much to compare actually because they are all very good cameras and perform well.

Taylor
