Defragmenting Stopped Crashing My Hard Drive

Hello!

I was defragmenting my hard drive then suddenly windows restarted itself ! now i can't open my computer it can detect the hard drive but it can't boot!

Ii tried to reinstall windows but it cant continue i can't even create or modify a partition !

what should i do?

I have important files or on that hard drive!

Defragmenting Stopped Crashing My Hard Drive

Hello @Brandy,

Sorry to say but your hard drive is dying and need's replacement. Though, You can recover important files contained in the hard drive using some special recovery software. This may cost you a bit but worth trying and all your inaccessible files can be recovered.

Here are the steps that could help you in recovering important files:

• Unplug the drive and attach it externally to any other PC,
• Download any specialized recovery software like Stellar Phoenix partition recovery software , otherwise choose whatever you  want from the list of a website : https://www.business.com/categories/data-recovery-services/
• After completing installation, follow on screen steps and choose the desired drive. 

NOTE: Don't use the same drive to save recovered data otherwise it will get overwritten.
