Windows compatibility mode error while playing a game

I tried playing a game and I the middle of the games the following message: “Running steam in windows compatibility mode is not recommended. Please remove any windows compatibility settings for all users under file properties for steam.exe and restart steam.” Is it possible that I have to remove the windows compatibility settings?

Hello Neil Max,

You need to update your registry settings to delete the Warning Message.

To open the Registry Setting follow this steps 

Click Start

Click Run

Type regedit

Click OK

Now Registry Editor Window opens left panel

Go to Computer->HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionAppCompatFlagsLayers"r

Now search your steam.exe from the right panel and delete that entry

Hope this will help you to work out the problem.
