Will upgrading my kindle software delete the eBook I have in it?

If I upgrade my Kindle software, will it delete the ebooks I have in it? I have ebooks in PDF and converted PDF files in addition to those I purchased from Amazon.

Hallo Hwilliams,

I  think the ebooks will be deleted when you perform an upgrade for the kindle software, but to be on the safe side i will advise that you deactivate the kindle software before doing the upgrade so that it will be easier to redownload them later. With the kindle program opened, you will just need to go to tools and the select options from there, and then select registration and from that window choose the option for deregistering kindle.

When you are done with performing the upgrade, you can thereafter go back using the same steps as the above and then re-register the kindle program again, and after that you can be able to download the ebooks you were using again.
