Unable to open Excel File as an attachment in Email

I have Windows Vista installed on my computer and MS-Excel that is actively running.

The problem is, I can’t open any excel file received as an attachment in an email.

I am receiving updated weekly mails with attached excel files that I could not open.

How can I resolve this problem?

There are certain questions on you problems above.

What version of Microsoft Excel do you have and what file extension of Microsoft Excel is attach on the email. In what I see in your case.

It is just compatibility issue with the later and previous version of Microsoft Excel.

To solve this:

Solution 1:

The easiest way to solve your problem is to install a Microsoft Office 2010 version. You need to purchase it, but make sure that it is the original copy and not just the illegal one.

Solution 2:

You need to download and install a compatibility pack software that can read doc formats created in the later version of Microsoft Excel. Here is the link to the download page of the software:
