Sql server 2000 personal edition installation freezes.

During the first attempt to install the SQL server 2000 personal edition an error occurred, i thought it happened because of the antivirus being enabled, i disabled it and tried installing again but still it froze at the same step, i ran XP Sp 3, what could be the problem?

You have not described here what type error you are getting. Might be some files of your downloaded SQL server 2000 got corrupted. I would suggest you to download fresh copy of this software and try then, if even same error is coming then check your system requirement are eligible to run this software. If system requirement is ok. Then try different version of SQL server.
