It is just freaking me out.

Few weeks ago I bought that new software that I wanted to install.

I tried to install it directly from the CD, the typical install shield program starts successfully but after a few seconds this error with error number {-5006: 0x90070002} occurs. I have no idea what is this about.

Please help me!

Your post is very incomplete.

It is hard to suggest a solution if you does not include any information about the software that you are installing.

But anyway, since you are installing a new software, try to know first the system requirements of the application.

Many users have habits of just buying and then installing without knowing that the program they bought can not be run on their computer. The usual problem was system incompatibility.

Many applications do not inform the user during the installation that it is not compatible with the operating system.

But there are few that will warn you about system incompatibility during installation.

The error – 5006: 0x90070002 is usually associated with previous incomplete installation. If you encounter this error on your computer while doing a fresh installation of a program, check if you have done a previous installation. It is possible that an application was not properly installed.

Try uninstalling it then restart the installation with your current application.

Hello,

I think you should indicate which software you was installing.

I think first time when you installed it, it was not installed properly, but you can uninstall it and can reinstall it.

But I think the CD you installed is not formatted well.

Sometime it happens that we buy a CD, so which is not well formatted.

Hope you can sort out your problem.
