The Thinkpad USB Secure Hard Drive made a pretty bold move by providing a hard drive that is very secured starting from outside use. It has a built-in security keypad on the outside where the subscribed owner must input a passcode before the contents of the hard drive can be accessed. This is different from typical external hard disks because the security is right outside of the body. Other external hard disks has their security in the inside, represented as a software mechanism. Because of this, the Thinkpad USB Secure Hard Drive is very secure from the get-go. It has a capacity of 320GB, enough space for your confidential files and applications. The only downside of this added security is its high price. Currently it is priced at over $220, whichis a pretty steep price compared to other 320GB external hard drives. Its performance speed is very fast though, as data processing and data searching is almost at an instant. Its speed burns out any competitors that are on the same price range and capacity. Another disadvantage of this device is its bulky design, sporting a rubber protector. But this flaw is subjective to the ones who are using it, as some people like this kind of design.
