PhotoPaint X5 Invalid File Name Error on Processing X3 and X4 Images

Hello, I have used photopaint X3 and X4 to process some images but now when I am trying to open them in photopaint X5, they won't open.

I get the following error on my screen:

Corel PHOTO-PAINT

Invalid file name.

OK

I am having no problems when I am using X3 and X4 on the same files. Any help will be highly appreciated.

PhotoPaint X5 Invalid File Name Error on Processing X3 and X4 Images

Hello Olivia,

The problem seems to be that your Windows theme is Classic. Try switching back to Aero theme and the problem should be solved. As it seems Photo Paint X5 is incompatible with Windows Classic theme. 

Follow the steps below to switch back to Aero theme:

1.     Right click on anywhere in the desktop

2.     Select "Personalize"

3.     Select a Windows Aero them. For example, Windows Basic theme.

PhotoPaint X5 Invalid File Name Error on Processing X3 and X4 Images

The Batch Processing in PhotoPaint X5 is not in the one generating that error message, it works great, the problem was in selecting multiple images to populate the list, if you are using Windows 7 Enterprise Edition x64bit.

DO NOT disable the aero dock capabilities of windows 7, enable the aero dock default of windows 7, I have tried what you mention here with my Windows 7 x64 bit in Windows XP look, and it does generate that error message, when in Windows XP look the button on the batch processing is “Open” but in aero style in button becomes “Import” and the error message is gone.
