I have Netgear DGN 1000 Wireless Router. It runs 24×7 in our home. Last night here came a Heavy Rain and it was filled with Rain Water. In the morning I checked it out and got to know that its Power Supply is faulty. Placed it in Sunlight for 1 hour and tried to run it again. It started and then Wireless, WPS and DSL ports were working fine but LAN Ports Stopped working. I have 2 PC's in my home that run Internet using LAN Cable. What could be the possible solution?

Hi Avah.hannah,

I am so sorry to hear that.

Routers and many such electronic devices are not designed to withstand water damage.

These devices are designed to be kept in a dry, cool place.

Since your router got wet, there is not much that can be done from your end in order to restore full functionality.

I would suggest that you use a Hair-dryer to remove as much moisture from it as possible.

If that does not work, then, I would suggest that you take it to an electronic repair shop in order for their technicians to determine whether or not it can be repaired. They would advise you from that point onwards.

Thank you
