Microsoft Windows Movie Maker is not working with an external hard drive.

I used a separate laptop to make the files on the Microsoft Windows Movie Maker and then transferred these files to the hard drive. When I open those files on the hard drive in my laptop, it says that Movie Maker can’t open these files. Can anyone help me out in this situation? Thanks in advance.

Microsoft Windows Movie Maker is not working with an external hard drive.

There is no reason why the hard drive would be connected to the problem. A possible issue could be the difference in file formats of the Microsoft Windows Movie Maker in both the laptops. The two laptops could have different versions of the Movie Maker, and thus, the file created on one laptop would not play on the other one. You can try installing the latest version of the Movie Maker and on both your systems and transfer the files easily.
