As of May 13, 2012 Airtel, an Indian Telecommunications Company operates in 20 countries across South Asia, Africa and the Channel Islands. It operates a GSM network in all countries, providing 2G, 3G, and 4G services depending upon the country of operation. It is known for being the first mobile phone company in the world tooutsource all of its business operations except marketing, sales and finance. Its network—base stations, microwave links, etc.—is maintained byEricsson, Nokia Siemens and Huawei, and business support is provided byIBM. They have plans of expanding worldwide and currently working on it to provide the best service worldwide however no specific date yet.
