I heard that second generation Thundrerbolt  controllers are distributing by Intel. What is Thunderbolt controller and how it works?

Intel’s second generation Thunderbolt controllers.

Intel is going to introduced two new versions of thunderbolt controllers titled as DSL3510 and DSL3310 upto the last dates of month of may this year.Thunderbolt controllers are related to Thunderbolt technology. It is high speed input/output technology.

with the evaluation of fast processors there is a need to enhance the transfer rate of data through peripherals.Thunderbolt technology provide great responsiveness with data and display transfers using a single cable to connect devices. It provides the fastest speed to transfer of data.The main objectives are to attain high speed performance, simplicity and flexibility. Followings are the important features of this technology.

dual channel 10Gbps per port, Bi directional, dual protocol, compatible with existing display ports, daisy chained devices, uses native protocol software drivers.

Intel’s Thunderbolt technology is a double protocol I/O innovation that significantly intensifies transfer performance by means of bi-directional 10 Gbps rate thus giving the fastest connection ever to your computer. It changes the device’s interconnectivity and provides daisy chaining to numerous devices giving simplicity and flexibility for slim system designs like for example Ultrabooks and laptops. This new technology reorganizes the input and output transfer.

This new technology from Intel merges DisplayPort I/O protocols and PCI Express into one highly-effective metaprotocol. The Thunderbolt controllers are the components that compose the Thunderbolt technology. It includes the Thunderbolt protocol switch which is a high-performance cross bar, a PCI Express switch, and one or more DisplayPorts, PCI Express protocol adapter ports, and Thunderbolt ports.

I thought Thunderbolt Technology is very complicated for me to understand; however, I was interested in learning and understanding the technology, so I set out to searched for information from many websites, but my search was not helpful because all the websites I visited provided information and explanations that were not easy to understand. At last one of my friends recommends Techyv.com to me, and now I have realized that my friend was right. After reading comments and illustrations posted on Techyv.com, I have managed to learn and understand much clearly about the Intel’s Thunderbolt technology and its usage.
