I am a computer student, and I have a Windows PC. I want to know how Windows takes care of all logins and when I searched the web I came across this authentication package, MSV1_0. I am not getting much information about it, so if someone can share what they know of that package, it would be useful.

Information On Microsoft Authentication Package Version 1

Microsoft provides this package for local machines that do not require Custom authentication. Custom authentication is the modified authentication mechanism that is used to determine permissions granted and authorization for any user.

Local Security Authority (LSA) uses this authentication package. This authentication package processes the Logon data collected by the GINA for the Win Logon login process. This package checks the local Security Accounts Manager (SAM) database to see if the entered credentials are valid and return the result to LSA. This package defines a key string-value pair of primary credentials. This credential holds the information derived from the data provided during the Logon time. It includes the username and both case-sensitive and case-insensitive forms of any user’s password.
