I have a problem with my CD drive

Hello,

I own a Dell inspiron laptop and now I have a problem with my CD drive. When I tried to play Civilisation III CD, it got struck and gave an error, shown below.

I disabled my antivirus and firewall and tried to play the CD again but I am still facing the same error. Kindly help me in solving the issue so that I can play the CD on my laptop.

Hi Jermaine,

 

                   First of all you forgot to list the exact error, what exact error is your Laptop giving? Are all other Disks working properly in your CD Player of your Laptop? If Yes then this should work, Do a Disk Cleanup, get a Disk Cleanup CD, clean your CD Player with it and then check, it'll surely work, if still the problem persist, check if its a hardware problem in your Player.

Have a nice day.

First of all clear this issue that is your cdrom act like this with other cd's too or not?If no then try to buff  the cd,  you want to play.Try this following too.

1. Click on start search and type "devmgmt.msc" and hit enter.

2. Expand DVD/CDROM drives.

3. Right click the listed drives and uninstall them.

4. Restart your pc.

Computer will automatically updates the driver.Hope it will work.
