How can I troubleshoot my computer that is playing music using quickplay media player, assuming that I do not want to close the running program and the computer has developed memory problems that are solvable while some programs are running. Give a detailed explanation on what should be done and why it should be done.

Greetings,

I believe you are referring to the Virtual Memory being too low. This error is usually caused by not having enough RAM which can be solved by adding more physical memory, or a buggy application is causing a memory leak. Bugged applications tend to use more and more memory until it is closed or windows is restarted. Determining these applications comes as a priority. Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE or hold down CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to open Task Manager. Switch to the Processes tab. Click View, then Select Columns. Put a check on Virtual Memory Size and hit OK.

A new column, VM Size is now added that shows which applications are taking up the most virtual memory.

Now that you have identified the culprit, you can choose to close it. Most applications use more memory as they continue to run.

In addition to physical memory, Windows and its applications use virtual memory or page file as needed. Another thing you can do is to increase the size of the page file. Right My Computer > Properties. Click Advanced > Performance > Settings. Switch to Advanced tab. Under Virtual memory, click Change. From here you can either choose the System managed size or change the size manually. Hit OK when done.
