The Windows 8 system has come with a lot of changes, and the boot procedure has become so fast that it cannot be interrupted by pressing any keys. You can boot into Safe Mode by using the System configuration tool. Go to Boot tab and select the Safe mode option in the boot options section. Then click on OK. Then restart your system, and your Windows 8 will start in Safe mode. There are many other methods, but this is the easiest of them all.

If booting in Safe Mode on Microsoft Windows 8 by pressing the F8 button on your keyboard doesn’t seem to work, it is probably because the gap or interval between the BIOS POST and the loading of Windows is very short which can happen if the machine is very fast. Another way of going to Safe Mode is right within Windows.

To boot in Safe Mode, click “Start” then in the search box type without quotes “msconfig”. In the search result, right-click “msconfig” then select “Run as administrator.” On the next screen, select “BOOT.INI” tab and check “/SAFEBOOT”.

Boot in safe mode

Click “OK” then restart the computer. This should automatically boot your machine directly in Safe Mode. Once you’re in Safe Mode, repeat the same steps and uncheck “/SAFEBOOT” to boot the computer normally again.
