How To Resolve The Error 0x8004001d?

Hello. While updating your outlook software, usually an unknown outlook error: 0x8004001d occurs; this happens when the user is trying to update the outlook and import or export the PST files, which include archived data of the user. So, to fix this error, follow the below methods.

Method 1:

Using Microsoft Outlook’s safe mode to fix the error.

• Hold Windows Key + R; this will open run dialogue box.
• Enter “Outlook/safe” in the space of Run dialog box and click on Ok.

This method will work in safe mode, and the data will not be lost. The PST file starts importing. If this method fails, try the next technique.

Method 2:

Disable the Outlooks Add-ins.

• Go to Outlook, click on Files, next click options, and then on add-ins.
• Select COM Add-ins in the drop-down menu of Manage, and click on the go.
• Remember the add-ins, untick all the checkboxes. Click on ok.
• Now, close Outlook and reopen it again.
• Repeat the above points 1 and 2.
• Now tick the checkboxes that are unticked in point 3.

Usually, this clears the error message; if not then, follow the next method. This method might fail because of the corrupted outlook files.

Method 3:

Using a repair tool.

• Type in Find PST file in Windows search.
• Select the corrupted PST file for scanning and click on next.
• The PST file will automatically get repaired, and the error will get cleared.

After this, the error will be fixed, and you will be able to use outlook.
