Hi experts,

I am facing a problem on Windows 8 with my Catalyst Control Center. I am unable to update it. I encountered with a problem with catalyst control center live update. On my desktop my current version is 12.3 while on my laptop current version is 12.8 shown. I did not use my desktop for a long time. I tried to update 12.3 version to 12.8, but after rebooting the computer it again shows 12.3 version. I did not find the solution on any website, so I choose techyv.com to ask from the experts. I hope someone will help me out and give the best solution. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello Isabella,

This is indeed a weird problem you got there. Here are some suggestions to solve it:

Firstly, you will need to do the manual update and see if it works.

If this doesn't work then you will have to uninstall Catalyst Control Center from your computer completely and do a fresh install of 12.8 version. This will surely do the job, but in case you still have problems do the following:

  1. Enter Safe Mode. You can see a tutorial here: How to Enter Safe Mode in Windows 8
  2. Install Catalyst Control Center 12.8
  3. Reboot.

That's all, you will be good to go after this.
