I have a windows photo viewer error code ox800736lb1. Photos will not open at all. I uninstalled and reinstalled but it did not help. Can you help me to get it working again? Thanks.

Hello! What operating system does your computer have? (XP, Vista, 7) Was Windows Photo Viewer working before? If so, what changes were made to your computer? I mean did you install a new program? What I suggest that you try is to run sfc/scannow to check if it is a problem with your system files. Run the command prompt/CMD as administrator and typ sfc/scannow then press enter to let it run. It will scan your system and try to repair any problem with your system files. If it goes through without any errors, try running photo viewer again. If you are still having problems after doing this and photo viewer was working before, then you can try to restore your computer to a previous state by running system restore. You can also try booting from your windows cd and click start “Repair” from there. Hope this helps.

If you are using Windows Photo Viewer, that means you are probably using Windows 7 because it has a different name on other operating systems. In Microsoft Windows XP, it is called “Windows Picture and Fax Viewer” while in Windows Vista, it was replaced by “Windows Photo Gallery”.

It was re-established in Windows 7 using the name “Windows Photo Viewer” but was deprecated in Windows 10 in favor of “Photos”, a Windows Store app. I can’t seem to find a way to reinstall Windows Photo Viewer to possibly fix error “ox800736lb1”. If you encounter that error, make sure the format of the image you are viewing is supported.

Windows Photo Viewer supports the following image formats: BMP, JPEG, JPEG XR (formerly HD Photo), PNG, ICO, GIF, and TIFF.
