How to deal with forgot password script on PHP?

I am very curious about PHP scripting languages. They say that this program can deal with retrieving the password. Does it really work?

Hi,

I have found this site that somehow says that it might be possible. We all know that PHP is a general-purpose language used in writing general-purpose scripts that are put into the server where the website is located and creates an HTML code that produce Web page and allows individual users to see the customized Webpages. Here you can also see the different PHP features designed only for Web sites, it displays HTML form and process the information that the user types in; interact with databases to store information from the user to retrieve information that is displayed to the user; and lastly, allows the developer to create secure Web pages that require users to enter a valid username and password before seeing the Web page content.
