Hello,

How can we password protect a ost file? In the world of business industry, as an assistant IT administrator I have to be aware on how can I keep the best security measurement for the company’s important data and files. If possible I need to put passwords in the computer, database and even in file folders. Can you help me to set a password in my ost files?

Thanks for posting your question!

Please note that ost file can’t be password protected as there is no option for that.

What will you if some bad guy has an access to your hard disk and if it not encrypted than all your data will belong to the bad guy.

I would suggest you that instead of protecting an .ost file, I would recommend you to protect the file on the disk, so that if any one tries to misuse then they would not be able to do anything as the disk is protected.

What you can do is to use any data encryption and encrypt the files.

You can use the disk encryption like Bit Locker or PGP locker.
