I am running Mountain lion OS on a Desk top. What are the security features on Mountain lion OS that will let me back up a EXTERNAL  hard drive.

How can I Protect my external drive with Mountain lion os

Dear,

It is easier to recover hard drive data if you have a recent backup of your files. Data Backup 3 is an excellent choice for backups. I use to routinely backup my data, avoiding lass from any event.

Unfortunately, installing a new OS can a causes issues with a hard drive occasionally. Since mountain Lion must be downloaded,  problems with your internet connection, server errors of power losses can corrupt the installation file. A failed installation could damages your files as well as your installed programs.
