Help with WEP / WAP and Shaw?

I am on Shaw and my new computer is not collaborating with my current WEP security wifi. The tech guy said that I need to update from WEP to WAP but a few people have said that I can’t do that with Shaw. Is this true? If so any solutions? And if not then can you tell me how to change it?
Please note that I am not a tech person so PLEASE use simple terms! Thank you!

Hello,

 Upgrading from WEP to WAP increases the security of one's wireless network. It's not true that you can't do this with Shaw. Here is a solution that could help you.Follow the following steps:

1. Get to the router interface page

2. Adjust the security settings.

Help with WEP / WAP and Shaw?

Hello,

You can update from WEP to WAP by following the below steps.

Type your IP address in your browser. Enter your router login name and password.

Once you are logged in, click on the wireless set up on the left side.

After choosing manual connection setup, scroll down to the end of the page. Select WAP in the wireless security mode. Save the settings after entering the new network key.
