I have heard a lot about tracing an electronic device such as a smartphone in case it is stolen or lost. Is it truly possible to track your lost android phone? Is tracing your device a real thing? How?

Of course, it is a real thing. There are multiple methods to track your lost android phone. However, your device should be mandatory connected to a mobile or WiFi network. Also, the location(GPS) must be switched on. Your android phone can be traced if and only if both the above conditions are satisfied. If the conditions are met, here are a few ways to proceed with the search.

Firstly, choose any browser on any computer or smartphone and go to google.com/android/find.  Or else, if you are logged into your Google account, you can simply type find my device for the same. Another option would be to trace your device via the android app “Find My Device.” If your Google account is already active and linked to your device, the app will be automatically turned on. Other similar apps are Seekdroid : Find My Phone, Find Lost Phone, etc..

Hopefully, you will not have to use these, but then, one can never be too careful!
