File servers and stress tests

Hey everyone! I would like to know the maximum number of users my file server is able to support. Can provide me some detailed information on how to do a stress test on my file server without it crashing or damaging anything?  Thank you very much!

File servers and stress tests

 

Hello,

 Actually there are some tools available on the net just for this. There is one tool offered by Microsoft that could do exactly this. It is available here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/231282/stress-tools-to-test-your-web-server. What this does is it simulates peak time wherein numerous peers are connected to your server requesting data and all. This not only tests your server’s response time but also the amount of peers it can handle. You should go check it out if you still want to stress test your server. Not entirely sure if its data safe, perhaps it comes with a help file you can browse just for that.
