Hello Friends,

This error sometimes appears when you launch the System Preparation Tool (SysPrep) with the valuessysprep/oobe/generalize/reboot when Kaspersky Internet Security is already installed on your computer and you reboot it.

Install Windows

Windows could not finish configuring the system. To attempt 

to resume configuration, restart the computer.

There are several ways to deal with this annoying issue, but the result is always the same – you have to disable the application self-defense before doing sysprep.
 
You can do it directly in registry by changing values of registry keys under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREKasperskyLabprotectedAVP80settingsEnableSelfProtection to 0.
 
Or you can do it via Kaspersky settings. Once you open settings, click the Options item, uncheck Enable Self-Defense and click OK.
