Error Code 1117 in using Macrium Reflect Version 5

Hi all!

I have installed Macrium Reflect Version 5 on my Toshiba 64bit A505 laptop. I used the Macrium Reflect from the installed drive (here an issue that I easily run my imaging from a rescue disk). I set the option to "Enable File Write Caching". I also tried to make a backup of my local drives. After completion on drive C: after about 5% I receive the error message of "Backup aborted! Unable to read from disk – Error Code 1117".

I have made an extensive disk check on all of my disks using "chkdsk <drive letter:> /r /f"

I am always using Macrium to image my PC's but now I am confused. It made a simple 1 hour project turned in to several days and still there is no image of my laptop. I need to image this because I am doing an anytime upgrade of windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional version and I like to get this image to restore in the upgrade event issues.

Thanks for help.

If you are using chkdsk to check your hard drive for any errors, I think you will be going nowhere. That little tool is only used for minor error checking. It can not fix quite serious errors in the hard drive’s file system. If you want to check your computer for any possible errors, use a disk utility application and don’t rely on that little program. For a much thorough diagnostics on the system, use a disk utility application like Norton Utilities, PC Tools Performance Toolkit, or Norton SystemWorks instead of using ScanDisk or CheckDisk.

You may also try checking your computer for viruses. Update your antivirus then run a full system scan on your hard drive. If your antivirus did not find any infection in the system, try uninstalling and then reinstalling Macrium Reflect 5 to restore its configurations back to default including some settings that you might have customized.
