An error occurred when trying to activate my Windows 8.1. I searched for a solution online and found out that the error code given in the error message means there is a mismatch in the SKU. How can I activate Windows 8.1? Please help.

Error 0xC004F069 on Activating Windows 8.1

The Error 0xc004f069 normally occurs when you attempt to run a pre-activated Windows and you are using the free activation key to activate your Windows 8.1 either by phone or Skype or via KMS. In order to resolve this, you need to run the Command Prompt under the Administrator account by pressing the Win+X keys and clicking the Command Prompt Admin account. Run SFC /SCANNOW afterwards. Wait until the process is complete.

Once done, you need to fix the registry file on your computer by running CCleaner or any other application that works the same. Run slmgr /ipk [key] once again. If this didn't resolve the issue, you may need to reinstall Windows or much better if you use a genuine copy of Windows 8.1.
