Could not connect to internet when using laptop

 I could not use my internet when I transferred the internet cable on my laptop. It works perfectly fine when used on my pc. How can I fix this problem?

Hey Merced!

If you are using internet fine on your computer, and you are unable to use it on laptop then there are two possible problems, due to which you are facing this problem.

First: check your Lan Card/ Modem drivers.

Second: Confirm whether it is a hardware problem or not.

To install the drivers of Lan Card/Modem, download them from the internet

or right click on your My Computer > properties > Hardware > Device Manager, here you can see whether your drivers are properly installed or not.

You can also use some softwares like Driver Genius to download the latest drivers

Could not connect to internet when using laptop

First you need to look for the icon at your task bar  if its there or not. If its not there you should look for the drivers or hardware.

If its there in the task bar but turns to limited connectivity after you plug in the lan cable like this image

its means that the issue lies with IP Settings, you must check IP Settings of your PC and replicate the same in your laptop.

To access the IP Settings you must follow following steps:

Right Click the Icon in your Task Bar => Open Network Connections => Right Click the relevant Connection => go to Properties => double click on "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)"
