Can anyone give me a suggestion on how I can control costs in an expanding and wireless environment?

Cost control in an expanding wireless environment

You must have a strategic plan before you do any improvement on your wireless environment so that you will know how much your going to spend for expansion and what are the needed equipment to do the expansion.

There are lots of cost in expanding your wireless environment,wireless and wired infrastructures ,ellular voice and data plan,mobile device purchases which includes applications,software for device management,training for the people so that they can adjust for the new wireless environment, and tech support for the overall testing of the wireless environment.

You should stick on your strategic plan because by doing so you will know or it will become more visible the potential benefit of mobility,in terms of saving money or increasing the revenue of the company so that you will know what is the benefits of doing expansion on your wireless environment.Another thing is you have to utilize the fixed infrastructure to its maximum potential level so that it will add support on the expanding wireless environment.

Your acqusition or your purchasing new equipment for the wireless environment should be taken seriously you should be buying stuff that are really needed with the highest standard for excellence in terms of buying this products.

Lastly with your strategic plans in place you can have more option on getting the best wireless service provider that will help in your expansion of your wireless environment.

Cost control in an expanding wireless environment

Hello Sabelle,

Before anything else we need to know how far you would like to expand your network because that would help you in controlling the costs. The devices that you need to purchase in order to expand you network will depend on the distance .For example in a typical home network if you want to get excellent signal and speed you can get a wireless N router but you also need to consider the wireless adapters on your computers. It is recommended to also use N series of adapters on your computers for you to maximize the performance of your wireless N router because if you are using the regular G adapters then you would only get the G performance on that router. If you don’t have a router yet, I suggest you go for N router for faster performance but if you already have a regular G router in place and would like to expand the signal up to 100 ft then you can get a G expander (Note: You will only purchase a G expander if you already have an existing G router and no plans of updating to N router). I would appreciate if you can share your network setup so I can give you suggestions that would be suitable for your network.
