It looks like the camera application may have been tampered with either in the programs files or the control panel, and therefore you will need to check that.

• You may want to uninstall the application completely from the control panel and then reinstall it so that any broken files or registry entries will be removed.
• You may try repairing the file in the control panel still before you opt to reinstall it.

Another thing you should try doing is running a registry cleaning and fixing program so that if the problem is as a result of registry entry errors they will be fixed.

If you are referring to your computer’s webcam, there is something wrong with its software or the camera driver. First option is to try reinstalling the webcam software. See if this works. If this doesn’t work, try downloading an updated driver from the website of your webcam. Like if you are using a Logitech webcam, head down to Webcam Software and Driver Support for Windows.

Follow the instructions on the page to help you identify your camera and download the appropriate driver for your operating system. If you are using the built-in camera of your laptop, make sure you installed the correct driver. Most of the time, laptops come with a driver CD that contains the drivers for the devices on your laptop.

If the CD contains more than one camera drivers, install the other one if the webcam doesn’t work properly. Also, make sure the camera software supports your operating system. The driver will not work if your operating system is not supported even if the camera software installs.
