I have connected my HP printer to my desktop. But when I tried to print, it didn't do anything. There is power on the printer and I see that the printer is showing in devices and printers. What should I do now? I can't find my printer's CD, how can I install the printer's software back on my computer?

Hi!

If your printer is still under warranty, you can let the service center to assist you since while the unit is under warranty, you are not allowed to do any hardware-issue onto your printer, which may be a cause of the problem.

On the other hand, It would be good if you also share the name of your operating system (OS) in the computer since drivers of the printer are dependent on the kind of OS it has.

At the moment, there are different type of connection toward printer: cable, local area network & wireless.  But I would like to believe that you used the cable type connection. The way the printer was setup may not be in accordance with the setup that you have. The fact that the printer can be seen in the device and the printer menu guarantees that there is a good connection between your printer and desktop. It would expedite the diagnosis of your problem and identify solution to that if you also share the name of your OS.

You can be assisted by this HP site in support to your printer.
