Can I use Smartphone repair joomla templates on Mac OS X?

Hi. Joomla is awesome tools and I am using it on windows plate-form till now. Some days ago my friend purchased MAC system, as it is working well but has some trouble shooing while installing joomla. I am wonder whether I can use Smartphone repair joomla templates on it. Is any version is available for this or some other trick. Please give some guidance.

Hello

Good to know that you are trying Joomla on MAC system.  Joomla 2.5 or other version can easily run in MAC system but that requires some extra work. Joomla runs like a gentle breeze when there’s an installed and running apache along with MySQL and PHP and phpmyadmin. These applications need accurate installation. For Joomla a database must be created before installing for it. Lunching the phpmyadmin local copy database can be created.  The database name, and mysql root user and password needs to be found then. To configure the database settings MySQL from the dropdown is to be selected  and then database settings will be open. FTP configuration not to be ignored. After successful installation the installation folder needs to be vacated which is possible from the button which appears in the setup finish page.

Hello Stewartyimothy,

As you know that Joomla is a PHP based service. So you need to first install a wamp server or vertigo server to get it running on mac. After that you have to install Joomla and it will work.
