AviSynth fails to open MKV file with XVID4PSP

Hello expert,

I have a peculiar problem whenever I try to open MKV file with XVID4PSP I am getting this error. I try by re-installing it million times but still the error exists. So I try to open with other source, no luck. I am thinking that the problem will be with MKV files. I am confused; help me to come out of this issue.

AviSynth script error:

AviSynth fails to open MKV file with XVID4PSP

An MKV file is a Matroska file. If your video editor can’t open a specific MKV file but other MKV files work, try converting the file to another supported format like AVI or MP4. This way you can still open the file with AviSynth though not directly because of the issue. If you are using an older version of this program, download the latest version from AviSynth 2.5.8.

The issue is with DirectShow. It is possible that the DirectShow files are no longer working properly and a possible corrupted file caused it. Because DirectShow comes with AviSynth, you need to uninstall it and then restart the computer. Next, download and install the latest version from DirectShow 1.3.4530. It supports all versions of Microsoft Windows.

Once installed, restart your computer and then try opening the MKV file again with AviSynth.
