Are there any free email security software for a small home-based business?

I need an email security software for a small home-based business. Since it is in its starting phase I was hoping to find free email security software or is it more advisable to buy the security software?

Are there any free email security software for a small home-based business?

Dear Janis Caldwell if you are a starting home based business then I would suggest you to use an online secured email service which would be free rather than opting out for commercial security software. However you can find security software free incase of personal use only. Most of the times you will find email security included in the internet security package and will seldom find email security separate. Going for a complete internet security package would be a better but a little expensive choice.

The Comodo provides email security software which is available separately. It's free for personal use but can also be purchased for commercial purposes.

There are free email security software's like Avast Antivirus, Clam Antivirus and Dr Web. The free email security software is good in protecting your computer to an extent only. For businesses, even for a small home-based business, you should buy a complete internet security software. It will be more convenient to you if you buy a complete internet security software rather than just buying an email protection software because it will give you protection against all kinds of threats like spam, Trojans, viruses and rootkits.

Software's offering complete protection include Comodo Internet Security, Trend Micro Titanium Antivirus Plus 2012 and Norton Internet Security 2012. You can download any one of these. Once you download an antivirus, you will also have to purchase it.

However if you have all other types of protection already installed in your PC and you only want an email protecting software, you can try GFI MAIL ESSENTIALS ONLINE. It’s a good software and you will have to buy it.
