I need an email security software for a small home-based business. Since it is in its starting phase I was hoping to find free email security software or is it more advisable to buy the security software?
Dear Janis Caldwell if you are a starting home based business then I would suggest you to use an online secured email service which would be free rather than opting out for commercial security software. However you can find security software free incase of personal use only. Most of the times you will find email security included in the internet security package and will seldom find email security separate. Going for a complete internet security package would be a better but a little expensive choice.
The Comodo provides email security software which is available separately. It's free for personal use but can also be purchased for commercial purposes. Â

For businesses, even for a small home-based business, you should buy a complete internet security software. It will be more convenient to you if you buy a complete internet security software rather than just buying an email protection software because it will give you protection against all kinds of threats like spam, Trojans, viruses and rootkits.
