I am trying to enter a new network but I cannot get access. I have tried changing the IP address to the preferred by the network but am not successful. What could be the problem with my machine? Help because I really need to connect.

First you have not clearly defined your problem, which type of network you want to connect. If this is a wireless network and you want to use it through WiFi then Wireless network have it own security module and to connect to that network you have get the secure key and enter to get access.

If this is a wired network and you want to connect to that, then just plug the wire into your computer LAN card and don't change your IP.   Keep it with default settings and it will work properly.

Hope this will solve your problem.

Thanks

To access network connection via WiFi or through cable you must install your Ethernet switch driver. Check and properly install it. The problem here is, the proxy server that you want to access does not match with the IP switch that you are trying to connect with.

Better check also the compatibility of your device, if you are using a modem and set it  up correctly, using the manufacturer's guide.

Router's internal settings or GUI can be access by using gateway's IP Address. Most router's gateway IP Address is 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 but this can be customized and changed.

If this GUI is not accessible, problem with this is the Firewall. Disabled the Firewall software and try to access again.

If failed, then clear all cached files, cookies, history and other forms data and password. This ensures that it's not the browser is causing the problem.

Check the proxy settings, proxy has to be uncheck in Tools, Internet Options, Connections, LAN Settings and remove all check boxes in the page.

Check the gateway's IP Address, Go to Start, Run and type cmd then press enter.

Type ipconfig and look for default gateway. This is the IP Address that you need to enter when accessing the GUI.
